A story for the siblings of those who are ill and injured
The young falcons, Piper and Perry, are looking forward to the day they can fly together. That hope is threatened when Perry falls from the nest and breaks his wing. Despite her love and caring for Perry and helping with the nest, Piper worries that with the focus on her brother, her mother won’t have the time or the energy to help her learn to fly.
This is a sensitive and charming story that recognizes and understands the fear and sacrifice experienced by siblings of children with a life-threatening illness.
Through the telling of this story, parents have an opportunity to acknowledge and strengthen siblings who have their own needs and worries about what has happened.
No matter what, the family will fly together.

Anya Schroeter is a college student who dreams of becoming a doctor. After almost losing her little brother from a heart condition, she pushes every day to get closer to that goal. She adores taking care of her plants and hanging out with her friends and has recently picked up crocheting.
Joe Schroeter lives in Colorado. He was fortunate to give his three children healthy doses of nature, travel, and the gym in their garage growing up. Joe sits on the board of Jessie’s Heart Foundation which helps families of children hospitalized for serious health conditions to address the challenges and non-medical costs that go well beyond the medical bills of care.
